jennifer-choi:
He was a senior with the perfect grades and the best internship at Intel. Think about it, perfect grades at Harker!?! Imagine all the possibilities this kid had in front of him! But he just threw it all down the drain.
Ok, I understand that this kid may have been depressed and sad and what not,…
What the fuck.
Please, before you go and make assumptions and lecture people on how to live, get your facts straight and know the whole story. I can’t believe you’d be so crude as to write this because you clearly have no clue how horribly offensive this is. It was not a guy, nor was it a senior; it was a girl and she was a junior, and she didn’t fucking do it for the reasons you went ahead and assumed must obviously be the reasons for any Harker suicide. Instead you ranted about “fucking Harker” and the tuition.
“They must want to die and go with him, but they can’t just do that. They don’t want to live without their son - it must be worst than hell and so painful for them”
Let me ask you this. What do you know? Of course her family is hurt, but it’s rather blockheaded of you to instantly assume that you know what everyone thinks. Please, I’m trying to refrain from exploding with obscenity and to maintain a civil tone, but you went ahead and thought that you knew the entire story, and that she did it for some completely unjustifiable reason, which really pisses me off.
“He was just thinking what would be best for him at that moment. ”
“He is just flat out dumb.”
Again. You don’t know anything at all. Talking about a person who took her own life like that is inconceivably heartless; she was so much more than just another kid who took her own life for a dumb reason.
I understand your frustration against those who commit suicide for the pain they inflict on others, but if you really cared you wouldn’t be so fucking boorish as to write a post this condemning, that people from Harker might see and be sincerely hurt by. Of course suicide is never the solution for depression, but presenting it like you did just reveals that you have no clue about nor empathy for those who need help. You make it sound like a fit of teenage pique - “Oh, someone committed suicide! How pointless! That was so dumb!” Yes, you were quite far away from the incident, but nevertheless - have some tact.
I don’t want to antagonize you, but your crudeness is just too much. Nor do I mean to sound stuck up or snobbish, which is what I’m pretty sure other high schoolers in the bay area think of us. I’m just appealing to that compassionate side of you - which obviously is nearly nonexistent - to look at the effects of her actions and yours. Our community, which was tight-knit and less than half the size of yours, is still reeling. I can’t believe you’d be so coldhearted as to simply write this off as another teen suicide case, because guess what? There are people out here who actually read your words and care enough to be angry that you’d express such disrespect for an occasion that should have been treated with tact and at least the tiniest hint of empathy, both of which you replaced with hasty dismissal and a remarkably offensive attitude.
I can’t think of a good way to finish this off so I’m just going to leave this here. Let it be known that…Jesus.
You are one fucking cold bitch who doesn’t understand anything.
AGREED CONNIE. Jennifer, if you’re going to post something like this about a school you’re not even part of at least get your fucking facts right. This is just offensive, disrespectful, and rude. You aren’t part of this community. You don’t understand what kind of pain this caused for a small school like us. YOU DIDN’T EVEN KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HER; what gives you the right to rant about her and call her a terrible person?! All you do is trash Harker, a school you obviously know nothing about because all you talk about is our tuition. I completely agree with Connie; you write this off as just another “helpless and frail” girl who took her own life when you have no right to.
